- Bob Etheridge- He has experience running a statewide campaign (Superintendent of Public Instruction) as well as having been a member of Congress. Downside: he lost to a tea-party crazy in 2010, and it would be nice for him to take that seat back.
- Anthony Foxx- Current mayor of Charlotte. He succeeded Pat McCrory, who is almost guaranteed to be the Republican nominee, so that could divide the Charlotte vote. But he’s young. (thanks for the tip Binx.)
Walter Dalton is a bad choice. He’s Purdue’s Lt. Governor. It’ll be too easy for him to be painted with the same brush as Purdue, and she’s obviously wildly unpopular.
